Lewis graduated from Wagner College and he earned a master's degree from Rutgers University. After college, he played professional baseball in the Boston Red Sox organization for several years. He is in the Wagner College, Union County and Rahway High School baseball hall's of fame. He then launched a career as a stockbroker with Merrill Lynch. He retired in 2000 and took an adult education oil painting class in 2002 and was hooked. He uses only one palette knife, no brushes. Lewis now uses his hobby for humanitarian causes to help less fortunate people around the world. As a Rotarian, he has helped over 2,000,000 people in 37 countries.
